Energy-efficient doors for demanding cold storage facilities at KWH Freeze
Over the past 15 years, EAB has supplied nearly 100 doors to KWH Freeze, with a strong focus on long-term functionality and operational reliability in challenging cold storage environments. The doors are machine-operated, inward-opening folding doors with thermal insulation and multiple glass panels, combining excellent visibility with superior insulating properties.
With more than 80,000 square metres of advanced, temperature-controlled warehouse space in Vantaa and 60 years of experience, KWH Freeze is Finland’s leading provider of frozen food storage. The business demands exceptional reliability and energy efficiency, which is reflected in the technical solutions chosen for its facilities.
Most of the doors are installed in loading bays connected to height-adjustable dock levellers. Here, the insulating properties of the thermal doors are crucial for maintaining stable temperatures. In cold storage environments, they act as an effective barrier between intermediate storage and freezer rooms, reducing energy loss and ensuring smooth, efficient logistics operations.
“In this type of operation, it is essential that the doors withstand both the stringent temperature requirements and intensive use over time,” says Lars-Göran Fahlén, Sales Representative and Project Manager at EAB Doors.
Lars-Göran has designed and planned all the doors delivered to KWH Freeze, in collaboration with EAB’s subsidiary, EAB Finland Oy.
