“We sell premium quality furniture, so of course we must have premium quality doors!”
At Alexander and Philip Malmnäs in the idyllic Lilla Hårsabäcks Gård outside of Våxtorp, you will feel right at home. When they moved here in 2008, the plan was to invest in dairy cattle, which they did for the first seven years.
Today they have beef cattle and sheep on the farm and Lucas, of course, a West Highland white terrier who maintains order. They run the farm together, but while Philip primarily has the passion for farming, Alexander’s passion is for interior design, plants and genuine handcrafted items. During the first years at Horsabäck, Alexander also worked at several shops in Båstad, both as a florist and interior decorator, but his dreams of having his own shop grew even stronger. When the doors of Malmnäs Möbler & Interiör opened in 2014 the shop was mainly a flower shop, but over the years the charming shop has been transformed and also expanded.
“We have the shop in the same building as we have animals and in this part there were stalls for horses and pigs. The previous owners had laying hens upstairs,” tells Alexander. We initially began with a couple rooms and we have completed the rooms as we have gone along. I love changing and moving things around, and last year we inaugurated the upstairs in the shop. Our doors from EAB have become like a door between two worlds! Animals and agriculture on the one hand and on the other hand a home furnishing shop with everything imaginable.
Alexander and Philip chose a classic EAB door for their barn, a four-section manual folding door in galvanised steel sheet with an access door. One more door is going to be installed on the farm and this time it is planned for the door to be clad in wood for an even more country feel. “The relationship with the customer was important to us, just as the workmanship and the quality are also important.”
