In the Fåglabäck logistics area in Skillingaryd, an impressive facility is emerging. Once phase two is fully completed, the property will encompass 120,000 square meters.

The first phase was completed at the end of 2021 and included a 49,700 square meter logistics building with high-tech standards and a train hall, certified according to GreenBuilding. Phase two, expected to be completed in 2026, consists of a logistics building with a mezzanine covering 73,000 square meters – an area equivalent to twelve football fields.

CH Square, experts in the development of large industrial and logistics properties, and EAB have, through several previous collaborations, developed a successful concept for constructing large logistics facilities.

“We’ve been delivering steel structures since the 1960s and have made every mistake in the book. That means we’ve accumulated a tremendous amount of knowledge in sales, design, production, and assembly. For us, all dimensions are standard – we’re flexible and create solutions based on conditions and needs. Our long-term relationships with suppliers also give us a great advantage, especially regarding delivery times and the ability to effectively resolve any challenges,” says Anders Andersson, Sales and Project Management at EAB Steel Buildings.

A Well-Bonded Team on Site

On site, we meet Sebastian Bagge, assembly manager at EAB Steel Buildings, who, together with his 14 colleagues, is hard at work completing the facility.

“Things are going really well here. We’re a tight-knit team with a lot of experience from similar projects, which makes the work smooth and efficient. It feels fantastic to be back and continue building on something we were part of starting,” says Sebastian Bagge.

Tommy Magnusson from Swerock, who has worked with EAB since 2006, chimes in with a clear Scanian accent:

“It works incredibly well! The secret? It’s simple – we help each other out, everyone knows what to do, and no one is afraid to step in when needed.”

Peter Bäckman, who has worked for many years as assembly manager at EAB Steel Buildings, agrees:

“We’ve been assembling for five weeks now and are right on schedule. Working with a team where everyone is in control and willing to help out really makes a difference!”

Efficiency Through Control and Flexibility

“By having the entire process under one roof in Smålandsstenar, we can quickly adapt and avoid coordination issues. That gives us both higher quality and increased efficiency,” says Peter.

For EAB, the collaboration is about more than just effective project management and steel structures. The company views customer adaptation, long-term trust, and accountability as the core of its operations:

“We deliver solutions, but at the same time, we build relationships that last over time,” Peter emphasizes.
