50,000 Omega Pallet Locations for OneMed
OneMed is taking a significant step in its long-term development with the establishment of a new state-of-the-art distribution centre in Gothenburg. The company supplies a comprehensive range of medical devices and healthcare equipment and is part of Asker Healthcare Group, which today comprises more than 50 companies across 19 countries.
Covering approximately 45,000 square metres, the new facility will be one of the largest of its kind in the region. OneMed Sweden has signed a long-term lease, with phased occupancy and operations commencing in autumn 2026. The investment represents an important milestone in meeting the company’s growing demand – OneMed currently handles more than 32,000 parcels every day. The new distribution centre will enable the company to consolidate its warehouse and office operations within a single, efficient facility, enhancing logistics while strengthening its capacity to support the Swedish healthcare sector.
An Impressive Warehouse Facility
The scale of the warehouse is remarkable and makes it one of the largest facilities we have delivered in recent years. In total, the installation includes more than 50,000 pallet locations using the Omega pallet racking system.

“What makes this project even more impressive is that it was delivered as a single order, demonstrating our capacity in both planning and execution,” says Jörgen Svensson, Sales Representative and Project Manager at EAB Warehouse Solutions.
The Omega pallet racking system is at the heart of EAB’s delivery – a proven solution that has been the market-leading choice for pallet racking in Sweden since 2009.
Another distinguishing feature of the project was that the customer selected its supplier at a very early stage in the process.
“That gave us the opportunity to work much more thoroughly with both planning and implementation. When you’re involved from the outset, you can optimise the solution in a completely different way, which helps the entire project run even more smoothly,” Jörgen explains.
Being involved early also meant that the building itself could be adapted to create the most efficient warehouse layout.
“That’s right. We looked at how the building’s structural grid could be adapted to match the pallet racking, ensuring the correct aisle widths and accessibility. It became a highly successful collaboration, where the building itself was designed around the warehouse solution. It was an excellent way of working and created the conditions for a far more optimised end result,” says Marcuz Agblad, Service and Maintenance Manager at OneMed.
A Project Delivered on Multiple Fronts
The entire project has been carried out in carefully planned phases, including the installation of the pallet racking, in order to meet the demanding project schedule.
“Our work ran in parallel with gaining access to the site, and the pallet racking was released in three separate phases because the move-in schedule was so tight. Throughout the construction project, the strategy has been to carry out multiple processes simultaneously. That approach allowed us to maintain an efficient overall timeline, which has been crucial in keeping the project on schedule,” Marcuz explains.
By the time the pallet racking installation entered its final phase, almost one fifth of the facility was already fully operational.
“We began using the first 8,000 pallet locations at an early stage, even before the entire installation had been completed. It allowed us to begin operations gradually while maintaining the flow of goods. We have now commissioned the first two phases, and from EAB’s perspective everything has been completed, labelled, protected and inspected. The focus is now on bringing the entire operation fully online together with our internal teams.”
Jörgen agrees that the phased approach proved highly successful.
“There are several reasons why this project has been such a success, but above all, I would say it comes down to the excellent communication we’ve maintained throughout every stage of the process. We’ve built a strong relationship over many years, and that mutual understanding has made a real difference,” he says.
“From the very beginning of the project, we had great confidence in EAB as a partner, based on the business we’ve done together previously and the collaboration we’ve built over many years. That gave us a solid foundation from the outset. It was therefore especially rewarding to award EAB this major contract for our new logistics centre,” Marcuz concludes.
