EAB supplies another orangery
EAB supplies another orangery. This time to the park in Borås.
Originally, we supplied the highly publicised orangery for Gunillaberg, the fabulous stately home of artist Tage Andersen. During the autumn, we were chosen to supply another orangery in the form of a steel frame and sheet steel roof for the park in Borås. Here, people of all ages from Borås will be able to meet and visitors will be inspired to adopt a sustainable lifestyle and can obtain advice on consumer and energy issues. The orangery will also be somewhere people can meet for coffee or attend lectures, take part in debates or go to special events, fashion shows etc. The orangery will stand on the site of the old theatre and will restore the park to the meeting place which the theatre once was.
The orangery will have a floor area of approx. 600 m2, plus a mezzanine of approx. 70 m2. The steel is clad with a fully-glazed facade and sliding sections. One of the challenges of the project was working in small spaces with lots of installations. Also, the shape of the building was a challenge in itself but, thanks to our 3D design process and rigid manufacturing tolerances in our workshop, installation went smoothly and everything fitted together perfectly.
The project was a joint venture with Erik Larsson Bygg from Limmared.
